This is our 12hr first aid course for thoose wishing to register with Ofsted. The courses is run on weekends and evenings in Reading, Berkshire. All First Aid Trainers are fully qualified & HSE approved. This is valid for 3 yrs. This course is for Childminders, Nursery Practitioners and Teachers. Nannies my undertake the 8hr intensive refresher if they have previously completed this course.

• Dealing with emergencies
• Resuscitation of babies & children
• Shock, Choking and Anaphylactic Shock & use of Epi pen / Ana pen
• Airway obstruction
• Asthma
• Control of severe bleeding
• Epilepsy & Febrile Convulsions
• Head injuries & Fractures
• Frost bite & Hypothermia
• Drowning
• Electrical Injuries

Also: Teething, Colic, Muscular injuries, Burns & Scalds, Eye injuries, Bites, Respiratory Infections, Epiglottis, Meningitis, Sickle Cell, Heat Exhaustion & Diarrhoea / Vomiting, Cradle Cap, Nappy Rash, Poisoning + any other requests.

The 12hr course is an in depth course covering all of the above information. It also covers other Medical conditions such as Meningitis, Sickle Cell, Colic, Croup and many more. The extension on the course allows for more “hands on” practice. Throughout the course the students are also shown video/power point presentations, this enhances the knowledge and understanding of the topics covered. A twelve hour first aid course is the only course recommended for Childminders, Nursery Nurses & Pre School Workers. On Successful completion of this course the candidate is awarded with a nationally recognised qualification valid for three years.
