A lovely family in Crookham Village, Fleet, are looking for a Nanny to cover their current Nanny’s Maternity leave from June 2018. This will be a fixed term contract of 6 months, with the possibility of extending this for another 6 months if needed. The family have three active, happy and friendly children; two boys aged 7 and 9, and a girl aged 11 years. The children are all outdoorsy and very sporty. They have their own ponies so enjoy riding, as well as playing football, rugby and cricket at school and in clubs.

 

The family need help from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 7am to 7.30pm.

-During the term time the Nanny will work 7am-12 midday and 3.30-7.30pm. (36 hours per week)

-During the school holidays the Nanny will be needed 4 full days (Mon-Thurs) per week, although the days will be a little shorter i.e. 8am-7pm. (44 hours per week)

The family are happy to pay the Nanny an average wage each month so they receive the same monthly salary throughout the time they are with them. They are also happy to round the hours up to 40hrs per week throughout the 6 months for the right candidate.

 

During the Term Time duties will include;

School drop off and pick up, with light housekeeping (the family employer a cleaner), making beds, ironing, food shop etc in before the afternoon school pick up. Help with Homework, Preparing and cooking meals, tidying of kitchen/dining area after use, bath and bed routine. Duties will also include help with the families washing and ironing, organising the children’s school bags and keeping the children’s rooms tidy.

During the School Holidays duties will also include;

Planning age appropriate fun activities. Taking the children to visit friends and family, birthday parties etc.

 

The children are close to their extended family who live close by and share some school activities.

A Nanny car will be provided, a Volvo XC90. They are happy for the Nanny to use the Nanny car in the middle of the day when the children are at school if needed.

 

The ideal candidate will be friendly, kind and caring, but also able to maintain structure and boundaries when needed. The family have employed a Nanny since the children were babies, so they are very used to having a Nanny at home in sole charge. You must have a good amount of experience as a Nanny, childcare qualifications are a bonus, but not essential.

Key responsibilities:
• To ensure that the children are kept warm, comfortable and clean
• To create a happy and relaxed environment around the children.
• To be loving and kind, but also firm when required. To comfort them when they are sick or have injured themselves, to make them feel secure at all times.
• To provide fresh, nutritious food for the children. To make breakfast, (lunch as appropriate) and tea for them and to provide snacks and drinks as appropriate. To ensure that they have a balanced diet and to limit the amount of sugar they eat.
• To plan menus for the week ahead and to prepare a weekly shopping list for your and the children’s’ food.

This will include taking them on excursions and doing a variety of activities each day (eg. • To arrange interesting and fun activities for both children during the school holidays.

• To ensure the children get plenty of exercise and fresh air. When the children are in the garden, to supervise them and to ensure they do not harm themselves.
• To encourage the children to keep their bedrooms tidy and tidy up after themselves eg. putting toys away etc. , helping them to do so.
• To keep their rooms, the playroom toys and cupboards tidy and clean. And returned to that state at the end of the day.
• To keep the kitchen, play areas and bathroom tidy, again encouraging the children to help. To sweep / the kitchen floor on a daily basis as needed and to load and unload the dishwasher and empty the kitchen bin when necessary.
• To assist with household duties, ensuring as a minimum that the house is left tidy at the end of the day
• Be prepared to undertake some light household duties such as light cleaning to keep house ticking over (we have a cleaner once a week), loading and unloading the dishwasher, washing, sorting and folding clothes alongside the children’s, putting clothes away, occasionally cooking extra for the whole family, shopping as needed. To iron the children’s clothes.
• Keeping a diary of appointments and provide daily feedback on the children and their activities.
• To inform us at the end of each day about how the children have been and other relevant issues. To review how the job is going and provide us with open and honest feedback on a regular basis.
